During this presentation the girls taught their lesson plan using different examples, skits, and games. They taught the class about Jean Piaget's theory as well as active listening and I-messages.
What I noticed as I followed along with the presentation is that I, myself do not always use active listening or I-messages with my friends; and I am afraid that some of my friendships are struggling right now because of it.
The strengths of this lesson plan we're that the girls kept the attention of the class throughout the entire thing. They did an amazing job teaching the class and I couldn't really say they had any weaknesses. Although, they did keep the class involved, I think it would have benefited them more if they had 'controlled' the class more. By saying this I mean keeping them quiet when they were speaking for example.
I learned about different types of learning and the different stages of Jean Piaget’s theory from this lesson plan. I also was able to really learn more about active listening and I-messages, which I think was beneficial for my personal being.
I personally feel that I could have made it easier for the girls to teach their lesson plan had I been more cooperative during class. I could have kept myself quieter throughout the lesson plan and controlled how out of hand I was allowing myself to get.
Next time a presentation happens, I want to give my full attention to the presenters, showing my respect for them getting in front of a classroom of people and speaking. Listening better will result in my personal self learning. It will hopefully make it easier and less stressful for the presenters as well if I chose to cooperate nicely.
Well done girls, you did an AMAZING job :)!
