Brain Making, Lesson Planning and Action Research

Students in my Issues and Human Growth and Development class made brains out of modelling clay. What fun!

Tomorrow, students will choose an issue in child development that interests them and teach the class a lesson about their topic.

In my Grade 12 University English class some students presented some fascinating persuasive arguments: Barbie as a Role Model, Media and Violence, and Homework Should be Abolished for High School Students.

We used the BKWLQ Build Knowledge, What I Think I Know, What I Want to Know, What I Learned and What Questions Do I Still Have) reading strategy and many students claimed that it was a useful strategy which helped them think about the issue on a deeper level.

In my grade 12 OSSLC class, students used the CATS strategy to predict and make inferences about the graphic novel: The Invention of Hugo Cabret.
